CELTIC LOSE OUT

Barcelona has defeated Celtic in a Champions League match played at Camp Nou, Barcelona on Tuesday. Barcelona won the match by 2-1. This was the third match for Barcelona in the ongoing Champions League tournament and Barca has won all three of them.

On the other hand, this was the first defeat for Celtic in the tournament. Celtic has also played three matches in the ongoing Champions League, but, has managed to win only one of them. Celtic currently has 4 points in three matches.

The Camp Nou Stadium was jam packed for this match. More than 77,000 people were present in the Stadium and they would have enjoyed the match a lot. The defenders of Barcelona hadn’t performed that well in the last match against Deportivo and they looked rusty in the first half of this match as well. Taking advantage of that, Celtic managed to take the lead in the 18th minute of the match with the goal of Georgios Samaras. It was Charles Mulgrew who assisted the goal.

The hosts came back into the game just before the half time break when Andres Iniesta scored the equalizer. Messi passed the ball to Xavi who had to beat two Celtic defenders to enter the box. He did that and then, gave a wonderful pass to Iniesta who made no mistake in putting the ball into the net.

The decider was scored in the very last minute of the injury time by Jordi Alba. The goal was set up by Adriano. Alba got an angular pass inside the box and he was quick to take advantage of the opportunity. He dabbed the ball into the far corner of the net and secured the victory of his team.

Celtic’s next match will be a Premier League encounter against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park on Saturday.
