CELTIC: TRANSFER FEE REVEALED FOR JOTA

Scottish giants Celtic will reportedly have to pay a significant portionof their summer's transfer budget to sign Jota from Benfica on a permanent deal. Celtic signed Jota on loan from Portuguese giants Benficaat the start of the season. The Portuguese attacker signed a season-long loan deal at Celtic last summer.

CELTIC BEATEN TO DEFENSIVE SIGNING - REPORT

Scottish giants Celtic have reportedly been beaten to the signing of young Irish defender Alex Murphy. This is according to the report from the stables of RTE Sport which stated that Newcastle United have beaten Celtic and a host of other clubs to the signing of the Galway United star. It was reported that Celtic have missed out on the player to Premier League outfit Newcastle United. In addition to Newcastle United and Celtic, Murphy has also be linked with Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion and Italian Serie A outfit Torino.


Murphy, 17, is expected to leave Galway United in the second tier of Irish football to sign for Newcastle United who are the new moneybags in the Premier League. He has made seven appearances for Galway United this season. Young Murphy is expected to join Newcastle United when he turns 18 in June.

DEMBELE ON ARSENAL RADAR – REPORT

Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele this summer. This is according to the report from the stables of media outlet Foot Mercato. It was revealed that the Gunners can sign the former Celtic player for £25m in the summer since he would have one year left on his current deal at French club Lyon.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is starting to stamp his authority on the Scottish Premiership outfit after he was appointed into the role in the summer. This is evident in the performance of his team on the Scottish Premiership scene last month.

Australian manager Postecoglou previously managed Yokohama F. Marinos in the J-league.


Postecoglou is the major driver of the interest and Japanese sources are certain that Celtic will sign Maeda in January. The Celtic boss has turned to the cheap Japanese market since he was appointed into the role in the summer. Postecoglou was the one driving the interest as Celtic signed KyogoFuruhashi from Vissel Kobe in the Japanese top flight in the summer and Maeda could follow him from former club, Yokohama F. Marinos.

Scottish Premiership side Celtic were on the end of a 4-0 drubbing at home to German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in their latest outing in the Europa League. Bayer Leverkusen scored two goals in each half to produce a dominant scoreline against the immediate past Scottish Premiership champions at the end of the Group G encounter.
