SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP: POSTECOGLOU WINS OCTOBER AWARD

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is starting to stamp his authority on the Scottish Premiership outfit after he was appointed into the role in the summer. This is evident in the performance of his team on the Scottish Premiership scene last month.

Postecoglou led Celtic to four wins from five games in the Scottish Premiership in October. To this effect, the Celtic manager had been named the manager of the month for last month.

The good league form at Celtic under Postecoglou has propelled the Europa League campaigners to second spot on the Scottish Premiership log. Australian manager Postecoglou has been able to lead his team to within four points of leaders and defending champions Rangers on the Scottish Premiership standings.

Postecoglou and Celtic started the month of October with their first away win of the season. As a matter of fact, Celtic had not won a league game away from home since February until they achieved the feat at Pittodrieagainst Aberdeen. Celtic ran out 2-1 winners to provide a major boost to their title challenge.

The win at Aberdeen was followed by another away win. In their next game, Celtic recorded a 2-0 win at Motherwell.The Europa League team made it three wins on the bounce in the month of October on the Scottish Premiership scene with the 2-0 home win over St. Johnstone. Ex-Australian senior national team manager Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic managers then made it three away wins in a row with the impressive 3-1 victory at Hibernian. The victory over Hibs made it four successive wins in the league for Celtic.

Celtic made it 13 points from the maximum 15 points during the month of October with the goalless draw with Livingston.

Postecoglou and his Celtic players have a date with St. Johnstone in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals when international football is over later his month. Celtic will attempt to secure their place in the final via the last four clash with St. Johnstone billed for Saturday, November 20.
